Rick McCubbin

Chief of Police

Chief Rick McCubbin is a 25-year veteran of law enforcement, a native of Louisville where he began his career with the Louisville Police Department in 1987. Chief McCubbin also served as president of the Louisville Fraternal Order of Police from 1995 until 2002 when he was appointed United States Marshal for Western Kentucky. In January 2010, after completing his first career, he decided to immediately return to law enforcement with the Bardstown Police Department. Chief McCubbin is a graduate of University of Louisville with a bachelor of science in administration of justice, a master’s degree from American Military University in criminal justice, and is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute (SPI), 108th AOC.  Chief McCubbin is also an adjunct at Elizabethtown Community College and teaches in the Criminal Justice Program.
