PATROL BEATS

The Bardstown Police Department uses a beat patrol structure to patrol the city. The city is divided into three sections (patrol beats) that officers are responsible for. Patrol officers are assigned a designated area, a "beat", to patrol during their shift to help prevent criminal activity. This allows officers the ability to provide a smaller area of responsibility, while providing our community with more directed patrol. The officer's photos are posted in the patrol beat that they are assigned and responsible for. This provides the citizens of Bardstown with a name and a face that they can be familiar with.
